Wendy’s – Wanna Get Frosty

I am still not sure what to think about this commercial. In one breath I think it is terrible, but it is so 2009 pop culture I can see where they were coming from. Pop culture has become a pool of crazy. Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, N-SYNC, how about Hannah Montana, American Idol, and alot more. Pop doesn’t really have a pattern anymore but is what ever you want it to be. The song has a mix of boy band, 80′s pop,

I see this as a serious spoof. It is serious, but it really isn’t. Note the scarf’s being worn, even though they are looking for something to cool them off. My personal favorite is the guy holding the boom box up over his head. Wendy has let her hair down and is having some fun with TV commercial advertising, the only thing missing is some old school break dancing moves.

I have 2 open questions:
1. What is the trophy in the cubicle during the opening scene. It looks like a body builder or something.
2. What kind of car are they cruising in. Judging by the “sleek” door handle it wasn’t made in the last 20 years.
